How to Become a Private Swimming Instructor in Singapore?
To become a private swim instructor in Singapore, you can obtain a swimming coach certification, such as the Swim Coaches & Training Australia (SCTA) certification.
Here is what you need to know:
- At least 16 years of age
- Enroll in the SCTA foundation course: Swimming and Water Safety Teacher Course
- Complete the online Theory component
- Attend and complete the Practical component — attain a "competent" grade
- Complete the Job Practical Supervision at an Aquatic Centre or Swim School (such as Fabulous Swim School)
- Fill up and complete the Assessment Workbook
- Complete and get marked competent under an SCTA accredited assessor (Fabulous Swim can provide an assessor)
- Have an existing CPR and First Aid accreditation (can be taken before or after SCTA certification)
